Market Day

So we decided to go with our friends we met to market day in Newmarket. Neither of us had been to that town yet so we wanted to check it out and see what it had to offer. Well the market was kind of a bust...there were only about 5-8 tents set up with people selling stuff. So we were like oook??? So we walked around a bit and found a pub to sit down and eat lunch. We sat outside and the weather was real nice and the food was delicious! After that we walked around a bit more and decided to go to Bury St. Edmunds to check out their market day. WAaaaayyyyy better haha!!! Tons of tents of fresh produce which we will probably start going there on Saturdays to get that. They also had tents of outdoor tools, pet supplies, clothes, rugs, curtains...stuff like that!!! It was about 2 streets worth of stuff!! So way better than Newmarket haha..I should have taken a picture of that but I forgot.

Anywho our friend buys her produce there so she got some things then we walked over to the park in the town centre! The girls love it..they have a small merry-go-round that the guy charges 1 pounds for like a 5 min ride..pretty good deal!! After that we walked around and found a big play area so we let them play for a little bit before it started to sprinkle and decided that we needed to head back to the cars..Well we got wet on the way back haha..we need umbrellas..tried to buy some yesterday but they were sold out..go figure..you would think in a place that gets rain all the time that they would keep those in stock haha..but nooo the guy was like we have been out for about 2-3 weeks...ahhh..oh well..It was a good thing we did leave when we did though because a good thunderstorm rolled through just as we got back to our room!!! Anywho here are some pictures taken from my phone..not the greatest..I pulled the camera out and it said the battery was exhausted! Thanks Audrey for letting it go dead haha!! She has been playing with it all week!! Oh well!! Good thing for Iphones with cameras ha!!!

Bowling

We spent our Saturday night out bowling!! It was the girls first time to bowl and they had a great time!! We met some friends that we made there and just hung out and had a great time!! Although, since we are in England, there is no A/C and in a closed in area it can get very hot!!! But we still had a great time!! Glad we have a couple of friends now, and the better part is..when we move into our new house, their house is just around the corner..walking distance!! You can tell by the pictures how hot we were haha!! GROSS!!!

Where We Stay

So everyone is asking what our room looks like!! In temporary lodging on base they make rooms for family's that are unable to stay in a house right away or when moving..feel like a house! So its not just a hotel room, its like a small apartment! Its 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full size living room, a full size kitchen, has a washer and dryer and they give you pots and pans and silverware to use while you are without your things!!! We booked this room for 30 days because we had no idea how long it would take to take to get into a house. Most people that arrive are in here at least 3-4 weeks. Well since our house has already been available for 2 months, we only have to wait until our housing appointment which is on Wednesday, which means we will only be in this temporary lodging for 10 days!!

I found out yesterday that our house hold goods shipment will be in the port of England on September 5th, then it can take up to 5-10 days to clear customs. We will then have our hhg around the 15th of September depending on available delivery days!!! Which is good! I was expecting it in October since they messed up and it didn't even leave Abilene until Aug 7th when it was originally suppose to have left on the 18th of June..Such a big mess..it should have been here waiting on us to arrive haha!!! But instead we are now waiting for it to arrive..So until then, they have a loan locker that you can borrow pots and pans, dishes, silverware and furniture. So we will use that until our shipment gets here!!

Anywho here are some pictures of where we are hanging out at everyday!!

Living room..excuse the mess and Dave sleeping! It was the day we got there and we were exhausted!!

Bury St. Edmunds

So today we went on a free tour the base gives every Friday here. It drove around the base and told us where everything was, took us to Feltwell base, showed us around there, then took us to Bury St. Edmunds, England. Cute little town with lots of shopping.

When we first arrived, we headed over to The Queens Head Pub. We had lunch and a beer! It was pretty good. Except Dave ordered a traditional hamburger and the meat on the burger was the size of a quarter haha...So funny. I had the fish and chips and the girls had chicken and chips!!

After we ate there was a phone booth outside the pub and I have always wanted to take my picture in one of those!!! So the girls and I played around in it..soo funny! Then it was time to venture off and find the phone store! We had our cell phones unlocked by ATT so that we can use another carrier without having to buy new phones!! All we had to do was buy a plan for only the sim card!! 10.50 pounds a month is not too bad..For both of our phones it will only be about $40 a month! Which in the states I was paying about $ 80 for just my phone. But anywho, we only got them so that Dave and I can get a hold of each other if we aren't together and for other people to be able to contact us that are here in England!!!

After all that we got back on the bus and headed back to RAF Lakenheath!!! Nice little outing and im sure we will be going to Bury plenty of times while we are here!! So here are some pictures from our day!!
